Intelligent concepts
1. Use more natural materials
Natural materials can be easy to obtain, cheap and even durable and efficient. These materials offer us a comfort and a much more pleasant climate than the synthetic ones that can be found in commerce. Natural materials that can be used to build a house are stone, wood, clay, straw, reeds, lime. Do not forget that this is a healthy method even for the environment, for the planet.
2. We recommend the rounded curved shapes
We rarely see sharp shapes in nature or straight lines or perfect alignments. All these visual elements protect us from monotony. The human body is not sharp or straight just as no human is perfect. It is exactly the same in a house. We shouldn’t be bothered by imperfections, roundness protects us from certain accidents, and asymmetrical finishes eliminate monotony. A house with organic shapes reduces stress!
3. The possibility to regulate the inside temperature is essential
The easiest way to do this (with natural materials) is to build outer walls as thick as possible and from very good heat-insulating materials (such as straw bales), and inside to use as many temperature-absorbing materials as possible (thermal masses ) such as clay, wood or stone. This way you can make sure that you will have a warm house in the winter (with a minimum energy requirement) and cool in the summer.
4. Connect the interior with exterior
The house should not be used as an isolation from the outside world. Always make sure that you have designed enough windows, doors in the right places. Do not hesitate to design terraces, porches or, why not, rooms with only 3 walls (for summer nights).
